The "birther" conspiracy is a batshit crazy conspiracy theory that is getting far more attention than it deserves, and here Roy Blunt is saying something incredibly ironic to legitimize a fringe claim. Googling "Barack Obama birth certificate" gives a news article right on the top which shows a copy of Barack Obama's birth certificate. Compare this to googling "Roy Blunt birth certificate", which shows no sign of Roy Blunt's birth certificate for ten pages. Is Roy Blunt an American citizen, much less a natural-born American?

These people are friggin' crazy.
I attribute it more to complete intellectual and moral bankruptcy.
Republican politicians remind me of my daughter when she was 2. If she didn't want to do something she would do that 'melting bones' thing that little kids instinctively know how to do to avoid predators: she would shlump to the ground and it was like trying to carry a big balloon full of mercury. That's what the necons are doing now - absent any ideas of their own all they can do is dig in their heals and drag governing to a halt - very patriotic of them.
